“Mountain Biking on the Monti Azzurri ” is a guide with an extra value: on the on ehand it is a piece of art by the painter Rino Polito, on the other hand it passes on the of two gray haired bikers (Rino e Guido Valesini) that have covered these trails with great passion, sometimes with great effort as well, but always with great joy. So it is more than a book, yet less than a book, at the same time.

It covers 26 different itineraries, all starting from Norcia and unfolding within and beyond the National Park Monti Sibillinireaching all the way to Preci, Visso, Castel S. Angelo sul Nera andArquata del Tronto. There are two lomger itineraries, actually two day journeys, climbing to the top of the northern side (Passo del Fargno, m. 1811 ) and to the Monti della Laga (Macera della Morte, m. 2090).

The itineraries are guaranteed, they have been studied, covered and written down after direct experience, and it is not a comon thing nowadays, when guide books are printed all over, sugesting off the desk trails noone has ever tried. At the slow pace of a bycicle climbing up the trails, you will discover the nature and true beauty of the Parco of Sibillini.

The feelings come from the colours, fragrances, and sounds, a real reward for those who approach the nature respectfully and considerately. They remain unknown and misterious to those who fly over in a helicopter, or drive through in their cars, albeit thinking they are giving a sign of appreciation and interest for these territories.
